eLearning

"We learn by conversing with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us." (From Learning Conversations by Laurie Thomas and Sheila Harrie-Augstein)

Online Collaboration

GroupSense works with tertiary education providers, particularly in the postgraduate sector, to enable stimulating, constructive interaction between course participants separated by time, opportunity or geography. Online Collaboration is suited to adult, self-directed learners with a need for flexible, multi-modal learning. The focus is on many-to-many (collaboration between participants and communication with educators) rather than one-to-many (educator to participants).

GroupSense creates online places for participants to collaborate, and supports them to participate. Participants are motivated both extrinsically (by the demands of the course) and intrinsically - when collaboration is easy and successful, participants are motivated to collaborate more. Learning happens close to the time and place that it is needed. Knowledge is created, exchanged and used in a real and social context.

The experience of Online Collaboration trains the participants to work and learn in the integrated electronic environment, giving them skills needed in the emerging online work culture. GroupSense provides a context that is relevant to that learning goal.

Online Communication

GroupSense also offers eLearning Providers integrated content and communication management systems. This includes communications to course participants such as notices, results, invoices and updates to content. Communication with and between educators is also supported in the form of collaboration, reports, photographs and biographical information of participants. GroupSense provides an individual Learning Site for each participant and educator.
